WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, had this to say on Friday following a statement from DHS Secretary John Kelly to rescind a 2014 memo put in place by the Obama administration regarding Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) and expanded work authorization for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program for three years.

“The Obama administration’s immigration executive action demonstrated a disregard for the rule of law and dramatically increased the incentive for illegal immigration.  I fully support Secretary Kelly’s actions today that recognize the importance of separation of powers and the role of Congress in developing our nation’s immigration laws.”
