MADISON– An oncology nurse at UW Health’s American Family Children’s Hospital has been named one of three finalists for the 2017 Extraordinary Healer Award sponsored by CURE magazine.
Nurse Jessica Kobs is a floor nurse on the oncology unit of the children’s hospital.
Kobs has been an oncology nurse at the children’s hospital for eight years.
The award will go to the person who has thrived in the challenging field of oncology nursing and has gone above and beyond to provide the best care for their patients.
Kobs said she is honored to be nominated.
“I love my job and cannot imagine doing anything else,” said Kobs. “I love making the kids smile because they bring me such joy and inspiration.”
The award will be announced on May 4 in Denver, Colorado at the Extraordinary Healer Award reception.
