Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Each year Voces members and supporters come together to celebrate and raise funds for the fight for immigrant workers rights and against harsh enforcement and the separation of families. For five years now, Ivan has overseen the operations of UndocuMedia serving over 500 thousand people on multiple platforms. The platform reaches 5 million to 10 milllion a week. UndocuMedia leverages online and on-the-ground grassroots organizers who help the community stay informed and fight for social justice. Undocumedia has become one of the nation’s largest online platforms of immigrant rights supporters and advocates. UndocuMedia is recognized across the nation as a trusted source for the latest news on immigration and other issues affecting immigrant communities.More recently, Ivan was awarded the Agent of Change award by Univision’s Young Latinos Awards.
Christine Neumann-Ortiz, Executive Director of Voces says, “As a DACA recipient himself, Ivan is an example of the tremendous talent and contributions that DACA recipients have to offer our society. He is an important voice in the movement, at a critical time, as we fight for passage of a Dream Act bill that does not bargain away the rights of others and as we push back against Trump’s white nationalist agenda.”
