Gov. Scott Walker today announced DFI Secretary Lon Roberts will replace Phil Montgomery on the PSC after the former GOP state lawmaker’s term ends next month.

Walker also announced Department of Financial Institutions Deputy Secretary Jay Risch will replace Roberts as head of the agency.

Before becoming DFI secretary a year ago, Roberts was a partner and shareholder at the Ruder Ware law firm in Wausau.

Risch previously lobbied for the Wisconsin Bankers Association and worked as a legislative aide.

Walker appointed Montgomery, 59, to a six-year term with the PSC in 2011, making him chair. The former Green Bay-area lawmaker was replaced as leader of the three-person body in 2015 by Ellen Nowak, who continues to hold that position.
