Gov. Scott Walker will have his annual reception for GOP county chairs to open this weekend’s state convention.
He also has double duty with his son, Alex Walker, graduating from UW-Madison on Saturday.
Because of graduation, Walker will speak earlier in the Saturday lineup than he normally would, a party spokesman said. He is expected to address party activists in the Wisconsin Dells mid-morning.
Walker’s Friday night reception, meanwhile, will again include a fish fry. But this year it will feature dueling pianos as the entertainment. In years past, Walker has favored bands such as Boogie and the Yoyoz and has been known to join them on stage to sing.
Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, will not be at convention this weekend because his son is graduating from UW-Oshkosh.
