Cassville, Wis. – Stonefield historic site, one of the Wisconsin Historical Society’s twelve historic sites and museums, is hosting a Visitor Appreciation Day as a “Thank You” to their guests on Sunday, June 4.  Visitors of all ages can enjoy $2 admission all day.
“Holding a Visitor Appreciation Day is our way of saying thank you to our past visitors and giving new visitors a chance to see our site at a discounted rate,” said Susan Caya Slusser, southwest sites regional director at the Wisconsin Historical Society. “Stonefield visitors continue to play a crucial role in maintaining Stonefield as a historic destination.”
At Stonefield, visitors can experience the stories that cultivated Wisconsin’s scenic countryside ranging from the State Agricultural Museum and touring the estate of Wisconsin’s first governor, to exploring an authentic 1901 farmstead.  At the State Agricultural Museum, learn about the rise of the turn-of-the-century dairy farming and the development of modern farm implements, including tractors, reapers and threshing machines.
Visitor Appreciation Day is being held on Sunday, June 4 from 10am – 5pm.  The price of admission for Stonefield is $2 all day.  Wisconsin Historical Society members receive free admission.  For more information, including special exhibits and programs, including the annual Great River Road Festival, call 608-725-5210 or visit. www.stonefieldhistoricsite.org.
