Lake Geneva, Wis. – Black Point Estate and Gardens, one of the twelve Wisconsin Historical Society sites and museums, has announced the starting date, June 15, for the 2017 Legends and Landmarks Series: A Walking Tour of Lake Geneva.   On this walking tour, participants will discover a different view of downtown Lake Geneva and the historic Maple Park.
“The tour will focus on not only the architecture but many of the fascinating stories that portray the colorful personalities and events that make Lake Geneva a culturally and historically rich city,” said David Desimone, site director of Black Point Estate and Gardens. “We hope this tour brings the city’s cultural heritage to light.”
On the tour, guests will learn which buildings were designed by famous architects, which have a colorful past and which significant structures were lost to neglect or the wrecking ball.  Along the way, you will hear stories about famous individuals such as:
  • Daniel Burnham
  • Frank Lloyd Wright
  • William Le Baron Jenny
  • And many more!
The walking tour will be offered every Thursday at 6:30 pm starting June 15 through September 14. The ninety minute guided tour will gather and depart from the Rivera Building, 812 Wrigley Drive in downtown Lake Geneva and cover roughly 1.5 miles. The cost is $8.00 per person.  Registration in advance is recommended and is on a first come, first serve basis.
Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling Black Point Estate and Gardens at 262-248-1888 or purchased day of the tour directly from the tour guide. Visit for more information and a list of events.
