MADISON – As Wisconsin Women in Government (WWIG) celebrate their 30th year, the board of directors are pleased to announce the following new legislative members.

Senator LaTonya Johnson and Representative Nancy VanderMeer have joined the WWIG Board for 2017-2018.  Senator Johnson represents the 6th Senate district, was elected to the Assembly in 2012, and the Senate in 2016.  Representative VanderMeer represents the 70th Assembly district and was elected in 2014.  Legislative board members bring unique knowledge and skills to WWIG and help accomplish the organization’s goal of furthering educational opportunities for women in public service.  In recognition of the importance of their role, WWIG’s governing documents specifically establish two Board positions for legislative representatives.

WWIG President Kara Kratowicz said, “WWIG welcomes the insight into the workings of government that Senator Johnson and Representative VanderMeer will bring to our Board.  We look forward to working with each of them.”

We thank Representative Jill Billings and Representative Janel Brandtjen for their service on the WWIG Board from 2015-2016.
