Bridge closed from April 19 to late August 2017; alternate local routes required.

Reconstruction work is scheduled to start Wednesday (April 19) on the Manogue Road bridge over Interstate 39/90, near the Janesville Rest Area in Rock County. The Manogue Road bridge is scheduled to be closed to all traffic starting Wednesday (April 19) and will reopen once completed in late August 2017 (weather-permitting). Alternate local routes are required during this project.

In early May, the existing structure will be removed primarily during nighttime lane closures on I-39/90 between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. Noise from construction equipment and backup alarms is expected for two or three nights during the bridge removal.

I-39/90 will remain open to two lanes (in each direction) during daytime hours with periodic nighttime single lane closures between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. All lane restrictions, bridge closure and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change.

This bridge replacement project will improve safety, meet current design standards and lengthen the bridge over I-39/90 to accommodate the Interstate expansion from the Illinois state line to the US 12/18 interchange near Madison.

The $2.2 million project is expected to be completed in late August 2017.
