Fitchburg, Wisconsin – Starting Monday morning (Oct. 16), Anton Drive will be closed at Carriage Street, west of Verona Road (US 18/151) in Fitchburg (see attached map). The intersection is anticipated to reopen late Wednesday (Oct. 18). Alternate local routes are required to access area businesses and residences.
Crews will install watermain facilities as part of the Verona Road reconstruction project. The closure dates are weather dependent and subject to change.
Motorists are reminded to be alert and drive with caution in all work zones, and eliminate distractions when behind the wheel. The public should also continue to patronize the local businesses in the project area.
The public is strongly encouraged to register for weekly construction updates via email on the Verona Road Project website,www.VeronaRoadProject.wi.gov, and follow the project on Facebook at www.facebook.com/WIVeronaRoadProject. Alerts and updates provided via these sites are not intended for use while driving. When driving, your focus should always be on driving.
