Meeting to preview US 18 resurfacing, Jefferson County

Work scheduled to begin August 21

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss upcoming construction activities for the US 18 resurfacing project between US 12 and WIS 26 in Jefferson County. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, from 5-7 p.m. at the Cambridge Community Room, 200 Spring Street, Cambridge. Parking and the entrance to the meeting are at the rear of the building.

The meeting will preview construction activities and the contractor’s work schedule for completing the improvements. Work is expected to begin August 21 and be completed in November. The highway will remain open to traffic. Construction will be performed using moving operations, with flaggers to direct vehicles around the work zone. Some portions of the roadway will be constructed during night time hours to reduce traffic delays.

The project will resurface the existing deteriorated pavement. In addition, existing signs and sign posts will be replaced in approximately the same locations, and the roadway shoulders regraded. No right-of-way acquisition is planned.

Adjacent property owners and commuters are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the construction activities and traffic impacts.  For more information visit the project website at www.511wi.gov
