Madison, Wisconsin—Madison-liberal Joe Parisi announced today that he would not run for governor in 2018. Parisi, widely considered a top Democrat recruit for his party’s nomination, announced his decision on Tax Day. The Republican Party of Wisconsin release the following statement:
“This is the strongest proof yet: Wisconsin Democrats are in total disarray. Offering the same failed policies of yesterday has resulted in a historic low point for their party, and with another top-tier candidate taking a pass on a run for governor, it’s clear the Democrat Party of Wisconsin does not know how to offer a real agenda for hard-working Wisconsin families.”
