GOP: Democrats could bring $3 billion jobs deal with Foxconn to a halt

Republicans are charging that Democrats might accomplish more than even some liberals hope: Stopping Wisconsin’s $3 billion factory deal with Foxconn Technology Group.
The Democratic candidates for governor have vowed to try to block or renegotiate the incentives to the Taiwanese company, which are aimed at bringing a flat-screen display plant and thousands of jobs to Racine County.
The Democrats haven’t guaranteed they’ll succeed — after all, Foxconn and GOP Gov. Scott Walker have already signed a contract.
But the Republican chairmen of the Legislature’s jobs and economic development committees are questioning whether, if elected next year, one of these Democrats might actually be able to block the Foxconn deal. 
“Democrats are so desperate to score a few cheap political points that they are willing to put hard-working families at risk by creating a chilling effect on investment and job creation,” Sen. Dan Feyen (R-Fond du Lac) and Rep. Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) said in a joint statement Tuesday.
