[Madison, WI]— As Governor Scott Walker signs his budget into law today, the actual dollars invested into the state’s K-12 system will be at a historic high. Meanwhile, Democrat candidates for governor and their new Assembly Minority Leader have staked a hypocritical position by opposing the very investment they once desired and praised.

“Wisconsin Democrat candidates for governor and party leaders are showing their true colors as they hypocritically oppose policies that they once supported,” said Alec Zimmerman, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Instead of fighting for hard-working Wisconsin families, they would rather play politics and score points with their far-left base.”

Democrat candidates for governor in Wisconsin have come out against the budget after previously advocating for stronger funding in education, including Dana Wachs, Kathleen Vinehout, and Tony Evers. Newly-elected Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz has also staked a hypocritical position against historic investment in education.
