MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee leaders today highlighted U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s record of standing up to special interests and doing right by Wisconsin following last night’s debate:
“Senator Tammy Baldwin laid out her strong vision to lower health care costs, expand coverage and protect Wisconsinites with pre-existing conditions,“ said Sandy Pasch, nurse and former state legislator. “Meanwhile, Leah Vukmir doubled down on her record of siding with the insurance companies, whether it’s shamefully allowing them to deny coverage for oral chemotherapy or supporting efforts to gut protections for pre-existing conditions. Senator Tammy Baldwin has proven time and time again that she is the leader to stand up to powerful special interests and do right by Wisconsin families.”
“Last night’s debate reinforced why Senator Tammy Baldwin is the clear choice to represent Wisconsin veterans in the United States Senate. I know Tammy is doing right by us veterans, whether it’s ensuring we have good health care, opportunities for good paying jobs or holding the VA accountable to improve care,” said Gary Wetzel, Medal of Honor recipient and Veterans for Tammy representative.
“I’ve seen what happens when Leah Vukmir takes orders from ALEC corporate lobbyists. Wisconsin needs a Senator who will fight for us, not take orders from special interests,” said State Representative David Crowley. “Last night again showed that Tammy Baldwin will stand up to anyone, no matter how powerful, if it means getting the job done for Wisconsin families.”
