Baldwin rails against hedge fund ‘predators’ in new TV ad

U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin rails against “predators” who buy companies and then shut down plants, putting people out of work, in her latest TV ad.

Baldwin, D-Madison, opens the spot saying a New York hedge fund takes control of a Wisconsin business, a factory shut down, 450 people lose their jobs and the town of Brokaw goes bankrupt.

“It’s not right. We cannot let these predators devastate our communities,” Baldwin says while standing in the snow outside the shuttered plant.

The spot then shows Baldwin at a tableful of people as she says she’s working to “stop these Wall Street hedge funds from destroying another town.”

Baldwin finishes the spot by saying she approves the message and adding, “I don’t work for Wall Street. I work for Wisconsin.”
