U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin takes a shot at her GOP rivals in a TV spot for the first time with a new ad that includes a knock on Kevin Nicholson over a media report that he worked as a consultant for companies that have laid off nearly 1,900 people since 2015.
The spot opens with pictures of all three candidates on the screen as the narrator asks, “Who will stand up for Wisconsin jobs?”
The narrator says Baldwin has worked to “make sure our government buys American and hires American,” but Nicholson and Leah Vukmir disagree.
The narrator adds Vukmir thinks it’s “too expensive,” while saying reports show Nicholson made more than $1 million advising companies “that shut down Wisconsin plants and laid off 19-hundred people.”
