The conservative Concerned Veterans for America today announced a $1.5 million statewide TV and digital ad campaign targeting U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Madison, on the Tomah VA scandal.
The narrator opens the spot saying the Tomah VA “over prescribed opiates to America’s heroes, leading to the overdose death of a Marine veteran.”
The narrator goes on to say Baldwin was the only senator with an inspector general report on the scandal and could have exposed the problems, but instead sat “on the report for months, keeping it secret, while veterans became addicted and families suffered.”
“Our veterans deserve better. Tell Tammy Baldwin to fight for our veterans,” the narrator says to close the spot.
The group said the ad will run statewide, but did not provide additional details.
