Duffy stars in new Vukmir TV ad calling attacks against her ‘fake news’

In a new TV spot from Republican Leah Vukmir’s campaign, GOP U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy dismisses attack ads against the state senator as “fake news.”

Last week, Kevin Nicholson’s campaign released a digital ad that included footage of Vukmir at a March 2016 panel discussion saying President Trump is “offensive to everyone” and shows her saying, “I’m not endorsing Donald Trump.”

In the new TV ad, Duffy, R-Wausau, says, “Leah stood with President Trump in 2016, and she will as your next senator. On Aug. 14, vote Leah Vukmir for Senate.”

Vukmir’s campaign also released a 60-second radio ad with a similar theme. That spot notes she “proudly cut a radio ad supporting the president” when he was “under attack” in 2016.

“She helped bring Wisconsin home. Kevin Nicholson? He was nowhere to be found, and today he launches false attacks,” the narrator says. “Wisconsin’s real conservatives know the truth.”
