(Milwaukee) – Democratic gubernatorial candidate Matt Flynn made the following comments regarding the extremely positive findings of the Marquette Law School poll released today.
“Our campaign’s message is clearly resonating with Wisconsin voters,” said Flynn. “We have steadily risen in the polls since Day One, and we’re now well positioned in second place with plenty of time before the August primary election.”
Flynn attributed his campaign’s success to his firm opposition to the Foxconn deal, in contrast to the weaker positions taken by his Democratic primary opponents. According to the poll, forty-six percent of voters know the Foxconn deal will cost more than it’s worth, while only forty percent think the value could potentially outweigh the cost.
“This poll shows that Wisconsin voters know the Foxconn deal was a bad deal,” said Flynn. “And no candidate has been more opposed to Foxconn, and more ready and willing to rescind the deal, than I have.”
As part of his campaign, Flynn has held a series of Foxconn hearings across Wisconsin, outlining the false promises made by Walker. Earlier this month, Flynn explained how he would challenge the Foxconn contract in court as Governor.
The Marquette poll also found Flynn would also be in a strong position to win the November election as the nominee, coming within the margin of error in a head-to-head match-up with Walker.
“Scott Walker has failed Wisconsin time and again,” said Flynn. “He’s going to be held accountable for his failings this November.”
