$10 Billion Investment in U.S. High-Tech Industry Will Create More than 13,000 Jobs in Production of Next Generation Display Technology and Building of AI 8K+5G Ecosystem
Mount Pleasant, WI – Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn) Founder and CEO Terry Gou today formally broke ground for the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in Racine County, Wisconsin. President Donald J. Trump, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker joined Mr. Gou in marking the start of construction of the campus which will create 13,000 jobs in Wisconsin with $10 billion investment and thousands of more jobs through the extensive supply chain supporting this project.

As Foxconn has discovered, there is no better place to build, hire and grow than right here in the United States. America is OPEN FOR BUSINESS, and we are bringing back those four beautiful words: MADE IN THE USA. Today’s groundbreaking is only one part of the exciting story that is playing out across our nation,” said President Trump.
After the groundbreaking ceremony, President Trump, Mr. Gou, Speaker Ryan, and Governor Walker toured a showcase of cutting-edge applications that will be used in Foxconn’s next generation display technology. The displays produced in Wisconsin will be used in a wide range of devices and solutions, from the latest generation of notebooks, to monitors, self-driving cars, aircraft systems, and televisions. It will revolutionize technology used in a wide range of areas, including innovative education, personalized entertainment, healthcare and medical solutions, advanced manufacturing systems, interactive retail, and safety.

With Foxconn’s plans to create 13,000 direct good-paying, family-supporting jobs, and our record low unemployment rate of 2.8 percent, it makes it all the more important to attract more workers to Wisconsin.”
As part of the company’s ‘Wisconsin First’ approach, Foxconn is actively working with local partners and tapping the talented and hardworking workforce in the state. It has started assembling a team of companies with strong track records in Wisconsin to support the development and construction of the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park.

The Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park will also serve as a science and technology park to promote research and development in advanced technologies in areas such as cloud computing, mobile devices, Internet of Things, Big Data, artificial intelligence (AI), networks, and robotics and automation. It will lay the foundation for the AI 8K+5G ecosystem that Foxconn is creating in the United States, and provide a platform for the development of next-generation hardware and solutions as part of that ecosystem. In addition, it will serve as an industry internet platform to enable hundreds of thousands of small and medium size manufacturers to be part of the advanced manufacturing in the Midwest and in America.
