South Milwaukee – Longtime South Milwaukee resident, Gabriel Gomez, will launch his campaign for Assembly District 21 on 1 .

Gabriel and his family have lived in South Milwaukee since 2001. His wife, Mariana, works as a daycare teacher and both of his children are products of the South Milwaukee Public School District. His son Samuel is going to the 7th grade, and his daughter Lusciana recently graduated from high school.

Gabriel is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and has spent his life in the service of others. Since being honorably discharged in 2000, he’s spent the past 18 years providing maintenance and management services to medical technology customers in the Midwest.

Gabriel decided to run after hearing countless parents and community members express frustration with the positions taken by the current State Rep. Jesse Rodriquez, especially concerning extreme cuts to the state education budget.

“Public school funding still remains well below historic levels. A strong K-12 education is essential for prosperity.” Gabriel said, “The people in my district have been waiting for someone to champion their issues in Madison, and their number one concern that has been public education. The rules around revenue spending limits for schools are over 20 years old and have created an unfair gap. People in my district don’t understand why their children are worth $1500 less than children in schools just a few miles up the road. I intend to make this a core issue of my campaign.”

Assembly District 21 covers South Milwaukee, Oak Creek, and parts of Franklin. Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th, 2018. For more information visit www.GabrielForWisconsin.com
