Republican Brad Schimel today officially announced his re-election campaign for AG, unveiling a new video highlighting his record of “fighting for Wisconsin.”

The video also touts Schimel’s work “keeping communities across Wisconsin safe” by cracking down on violent crime, drug abuse and human trafficking, as well as working to safeguard senior citizens from fraud and abuse.

“Across the state, Wisconsin families have a tough, fair and independent leader defending the rule of law in Madison,” the narrator says.

Dem Josh Kaul, a former federal prosecutor, has filed to run against Schimel, and his campaign manager knocked the incumbent following today’s announcement.

“As AG, Brad Schimel has been an extreme partisan who hasn’t gotten the job done,” said Ashley Viste. “Testing still hasn’t been completed on thousands of backlogged rape kits, and our opioid epidemic continues to get worse. It’s no surprise that he’s trying to run away from that record.”
