MILWAUKEE – Governor Scott Walker joined community and spiritual leaders today in Milwaukee for the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast which is held annually in honor of the National Day of Prayer.

“Today we pray for God’s blessings on the people of Wisconsin,” said Walker, “We particularly pray for our men and women in the Armed Forces and for their families.”

The Governor’s Prayer Breakfast was established in Wisconsin more than 40 years ago to recognize the National Day of Prayer, which was established by Congress in 1952. The theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer is “Pray for America – UNITY,” which encourages people of all religions and political affiliations to mobilize in unified public prayer for America.

Governor Walker also proclaimed today as a Day of Prayer throughout the State of Wisconsin. A copy of the Governor’s proclamation is here.
