(FAIRFAX, VA.) – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) boldly announced that there was only one candidate for State Treasurer that deserved an ‘A’ rating, and that was Travis Hartwig.

“I have always respected our Second Amendment.” said Travis Hartwig. “Unlike some of the candidates running for this office, I believe in the U.S. Constitution and it’s amendments which clearly states – The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

The other Republican in the race received an F rating, representing a lack of respect for our Second Amendment. This announcement comes after a recent revelation by iVoterGuide that Travis Hartwig is the only conservative running in the Republican Primary on August 14th.

It further highlights the contrast between Conservative Travis Hartwig and the candidates running for the Democratic nomination. “As the only conservative running for State Treasurer, I can win against the extreme liberal candidates on the Democratic ticket,” said Hartwig. “They are racing towards the bottom by, failing to acknowledge your right to bear arms and promising to vastly expand government by spending millions on wasteful programs. I will protect your rights and fight for the taxpayer.”

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America’s oldest civil rights and sportsmen’s group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation’s leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.

A primary for the Republican nomination for State Treasurer will be held Tuesday, August 14. The general election will be Tuesday, November 6.

Hartwig, who grew up in East Troy, holds a double major in Finance & Business Economics from Carroll University. He was a Mutual Fund Administrator at U.S. Bank Fund Services in downtown Milwaukee and owns a home in Oak Creek, WI.

Travis Hartwig is running for State Treasurer as a life-long conservative that believes Wisconsin taxpayers need a watchdog. He will use his experience to make the office more efficient and find ways to cut government spending because he believes that you do a better job of spending your hard-earned money than the government does.
