(Milwaukee) — Finance professional Travis Hartwig announced his campaign for State Treasurer of Wisconsin in an online video that coincides with the launch of his campaign website, travishartwig.com.
“I voted to eliminate the Treasurer’s office earlier this month, but since that referendum has failed, we need a responsible fiscal conservative to efficiently and effectively safeguard the state’s finances and protect taxpayer dollars,” Hartwig said.
Hartwig’s grassroots-fueled, modern campaign will use social media, video, and digital content to share ideas and connect voters throughout the campaign.
“I look forward to meeting voters across the state and talking to current legislators and administrators about how to best make this office work for the people of Wisconsin,” he said.
A primary for the Republican nomination for Treasurer will be held Tuesday, August 7. The general election will be Tuesday, November 6.
Hartwig, who grew up in East Troy, holds a double major in Finance and Business Economics from Carroll University. He is a Mutual Fund Administrator at U.S. Bank Fund Services in downtown Milwaukee. Hartwig owns a home in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
