Rep. Grothman yet to comment on Helsinki Summit

July 17, 2018

Grafton – Comments by President Trump downplaying Russian involvement in the hacking of the 2016 Election, while claiming that the U.S. and Russia were “both to blame,” has sparked appropriate outrage from both sides of the aisle. While numerous Republican members of the Wisconsin delegation, including the Representatives in two of our neighboring congressional districts, have voiced their concerns and disagreement, Rep. Glenn Grothman has yet to publicly comment on the issue.

“It is typical for candidates for office to put out statements responding to the news of the day. Today, however, is different because what happened in Helsinki – an American President putting a foreign adversary ahead of his own country – has never happened before,” said non-profit leader and business executive Dan Kohl.

“We all have a responsibility to speak out, regardless of the political consequences, because this is about protecting our way of life. If Glenn Grothman is not willing to put his loyalty to country over loyalty to party and do what’s necessary to protect America, it’s time to elect a new representative who will.”
