Administration decision undermines American diplomacy, national security.

Grafton – The White House announced today that the United States would effectively pull out of the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA), an agreement between China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union and Iran that prohibited Iran from developing nuclear weapons. By refusing to waive the imposition of sanctions, President Trump has done harm to American diplomacy and American interests.

“The Iran Deal mandated the toughest inspection protocols in history, and it effectively cut off all paths to an Iran armed with nuclear weapons, as it was designed to do,” said non-profit leader and business executive Dan Kohl. “America’s international standing and our nation’s diplomatic credibility just suffered great damage. Today the world is a significantly more dangerous place because of this poorly thought out decision.”
