Dark money group pays back Grothman for voting their way against Wisconsin families and seniors

Grafton – The Koch brothers announced today that they will be launching an ad campaign over Memorial Day Weekend to reward Glenn Grothman for supporting their agenda in Washington, including lavishing tax breaks on highly profitable multinational corporations.

It is not surprising that Grothman is benefiting from dark money and turning to outside groups like the Koch brothers to bail out his lackluster campaign. Just last week, we also learned that Grothman is turning to taxpayers to save him as he abuses their hard-earned tax dollars and spends over 3 times more than the average Wisconsin congressional member on mail expenses.

“It was only a matter of time before Glenn Grothman began collecting his reward for supporting a massive tax giveaway to billionaires like the Koch brothers,” said non-profit leader and business executive Dan Kohl. “After voting to add $1.5 trillion to the deficit that threatens severe cuts to Social Security and Medicare benefits earned by Wisconsin seniors, Grothman is now being rewarded for his fiscal irresponsibility. This district deserves an independent voice in Congress who will fight to make life better for all of us, not one who does the bidding of billionaire donors and huge corporations.”

Americans for Prosperity is part of a Koch network committed to spending $400 million in the 2018 elections. That number is large, but it is dwarfed by the $1 billion or more a year the Koch brothers are estimated to receive from the GOP tax bill that is set to add $1.5 trillion to the deficit.
