Kohl Statement on Mueller Indictments
Special Counsel confirms what was already known: Russia committed crimes against American democracy

Grafton – Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced today that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has issued indictments of 13 Russian nationals for interfering in the 2016 Presidential election. These indictments include allegations that the Russians interfered on behalf of specific candidates, and may have done so in “unwitting” coordination with American actors.
These indictments underscore the warning made by American intelligence community leaders this week: the Russian government attacked American democracy in 2016, and they will be back in 2018.
“Today’s news makes clear: America was attacked in 2016, and we remain under the clear threat of continued Russian attack against our democratic institutions.” said non-profit leader and business executive Dan Kohl. “It is a matter of utmost national security that should unite folks on both sides of the aisle. It is time for every elected leader to stand up for America, demand that Donald Trump enforce Russian sanctions, and put in place real and effective safeguards protecting American democracy and this year’s elections. ”
