MADISON — The Madison chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists shares information about these upcoming journalism events:
Coping with #FakeNews: The State of Media in 2018 panel discussion will be held tonight, Jan. 23, at the Madison Club, 5 East Wilson St. Registration begins at 5 p.m., with the program at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel will be moderated by Jeff Mayers, president of Wispolitics.com. Other participants include:
Kathleen Bartzen Culver, director of the Center for Journalism Ethics and the James E. Burgess Chair in Journalism Ethics for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism & Mass Communication.

Cultures in Conflict — Navigating Cultural Difference in International Human Rights Reporting, a two-day conference, takes place Feb. 9 and 10 at UW-Madison. It is sponsored by the UW-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the Institute for Regional and International Studies.
