With Phase 1 construction beginning this spring, Foxconn will hold several information sessions for contracting and construction companies, including a session in Milwaukee on Thursday, April 19 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at We Energies, 231 W. Michigan St.

Alderman Khalif J. Rainey invites all Milwaukee construction businesses, especially woman and minority owned companies participating in the City Accelerator Program, to attend the information session and place a bid for the Foxconn contract. “The Foxconn contract is an opportunity for local contracting firms to grow exponentially,” he said. “With the Foxconn plant benefiting from the City of Milwaukee it is only fair to include Milwaukee businesses in the site’s construction.”

At the information sessions, potential contractors can learn more about the Foxconn project and how to place a contract bid. To register for an information session, please visit https://wisconnvalley.wi.gov/Pages/General-Info-Sessions.aspx.

The first deadline for the first published bid from Foxconn is Monday, April 16. Building Phase 1, site preparation, material procurement, and logistics preparation, will begin this spring. Building Phase 2, vertical building construction work, is expected to begin in late 2018 or early 2019.
