Statement of Alderwoman Chantia Lewis:
I would like to congratulate Dr. Patricia McManus on her appointment as the interim Milwaukee Health Department Commissioner.
Dr. McManus has been an active and passionate leader in Milwaukee’s public health sector, showing dedication and sincerity in her desire to help underserved communities. She is the best choice to help us move forward, and I have full faith in her ability to lead the City of Milwaukee Health Department, and help families get access to the information they need to make informed choices for their health and safety.
Dr. McManus has strong relationships to the communities that have been most impacted by the lead issues, and that foundation of trust will be an asset as she moves into her role.
