MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele congratulates five outstanding Milwaukee County leaders on being honored with Black Excellence Awards from the Milwaukee Times.

For the past 33 years, The Milwaukee Times Weekly Newspaper Printing and Publishing Co. has presented the Black Excellence Awards as a way of paying tribute to some of the countless individuals, organizations and businesses who have contributed to the betterment of Milwaukee.

This year’s Milwaukee County awardees include Nicole Brookshire (Office on African American Affairs), Bashir Easter (Department on Aging), Ramona Dicks-Williams (Department on Aging – recently retired), Hanc Spivey (Milwaukee County Parks – retired), and Katryna Childs (District Attorney).

“I am incredibly proud of the team I get to work with here at Milwaukee County,” Abele said. “One of our community’s greatest strengths is our diversity, and I am excited to see these individuals being recognized by the Milwaukee Times for all of their hard work and dedication.”

Milwaukee County’s award winners and the rest of the honorees will be celebrated on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Italian Conference Center awards dinner from 6:00 – 9:30pm.
