MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Press Club and the Rotary Club of Milwaukee will present a joint program on Tuesday, July 24 featuring executives from the NL-leading Milwaukee Brewers: Rick Schlesinger, chief operating officer and David Stearns, general manager.

Schlesinger is entering his 16th season with the Brewers and eighth as chief operating officer. He was named to his current position in 2011 after serving as executive vice president of business operations. Schlesinger oversees the club’s business affairs, including finance, human resources, information technology, legal, sponsorships, marketing, ticketing, communications, broadcasting and non-baseball special events.

Stearns was named Brewers general manager in 2015, becoming the ninth GM in franchise history. Since joining the team, Stearns has implemented an approach to acquire, develop and retain young, controllable talent across all levels of the organization with the goal of making an impact at the Major League level. Prior to joining the Brewers, Stearns spent three seasons with the Houston Astros as assistant general manager, focusing on all areas of baseball operations, including analytics, administration, player development and scouting.

The luncheon program will feature an on-the-record discussion between Schlesinger and Stearns and a panel of journalists, followed by Q&A with the audience.

The program includes lunch and networking at 11:45 a.m., program 12 noon to 1:15 p.m. in Memorial Hall at the War Memorial Center, 750 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive downtown. Parking is available to the north of the building – please tell the attendant you are there for Rotary. Seating will be limited for this event and advanced registration is required.

The cost to attend is $20 for MPC members and $25 for non-members. Lunch is included. Registration deadline is Friday, July 20. Advanced registration and payment are required and may be done online at http://www.milwaukeepressclub.org/. Checks may be mailed to the MPC at PO Box 176, North Prairie, WI 53153-0176.
