Today, Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Mahlon Mitchell released the following statement on Governor Walker’s planned visit to the White House on Monday to discuss infrastructure with President Trump:

“Governor Walker has had eight years to tackle Wisconsin’s infrastructure crisis, and he has failed. First, he turned down $810 million in federal funding—and hundreds of jobs—to build high speed rail connecting Madison and Milwaukee. Then, he turned his back as Wisconsin’s roads became the 2nd worst in the country.

“The people of Wisconsin need more than Walker’s election-year rhetoric- they need real leadership. I’m prepared to take on the challenges facing our state, including fixing our roads and modernizing our infrastructure. We need to put Wisconsinites back to work, and make our state a welcome place for business. It’s time for change in Wisconsin.”
