Janesville, WI – Cathy Myers, a Janesville School Board Member and Democrat running for Congress in Wisconsin’s 1st District, announced that her campaign has reached the $1 million fundraising milestone less than a year into her campaign to represent Wisconsin’s 1st District in Congress.
“I am so proud of the truly grassroots campaign we are building and so thankful for the tens of thousands of working people who have believed in me enough to donate their hard-earned dollars to support our efforts,” Myers said.
Cathy Myers’ campaign received over 40,000 individual contributions with an average donation of less than $25. Myers, a 24-year veteran high school teacher, was able to raise her first million without accepting any PAC money.
“I’m serious about getting money out of politics, so I practice what I preach. I will be an independent voice for Wisconsin’s 1st District in Congress.”
Cathy Myers is a single mother of two, a former teachers’ union president, and the Vice President of the Janesville School Board.
