Paul Ryan’s Local School Board Representative Launches TV Ad Against Him

Janesville, WI – Today, Cathy Myers announced that her campaign has bought time on TV across Wisconsin’s 1st District to debut her powerful new video, “We Will Not Be Ignored.”

Watch the full video here and watch the 60-second ad here.

Cathy Myers is a single mother of two, 24-year high school teacher, and two-term elected official who as represented Paul Ryan as a member of the Janesville School Board since 2013.

Cathy Myers explained the goal of the TV spot, “Our country is in desperate need for a new type of leadership. Our new video has mobilized women, and more than a few men, around the country in support of my campaign, so our hope is that reaching a larger local audience on television will mobilize voters who are ready to get active and volunteer to defeat Paul Ryan.”

In the week since her “We Will Not Be Ignored” spot was released, the video has earned over 919,000 views, engaged thousands upon thousands of new supporters, and has raised $282,611 for her campaign.

Myers is the second Democratic candidate to release a TV ad against Paul Ryan. Her primary opponent, Randy Bryce, debuted his recent ad in Wisconsin, Seattle, and San Francisco. Bryce has lost three elections in the district, including two primaries, with less than 40% of the vote, but has continued to ignore Cathy Myers’ requests for a debate after backing out of a scheduled debate last October.

“A historic number of women are running for Congress across the country, and we refuse to be ignored. We refuse to be silenced and take a backseat to less qualified men,” Myers explained.
