Candidate for Wisconsin Governor Wins Endorsement From Nation’s Leading Pro-Choice Advocacy Group
Washington, DC — NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Kelda Roys in her campaign for Governor of Wisconsin. NARAL’s support brings significant financial and grassroots resources, with a membership over 35,000 strong in Wisconsin.
“Kelda Roys has been a steadfast champion for Wisconsin women and families. We are so proud to endorse her for Governor,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “With the onslaught of attacks on women’s health at the state level, it is more important than ever to elect champions to protect access to healthcare. Kelda Roys will continue to be a strong voice for women and families across Wisconsin.”

Roys has been an advocate for women her entire career. As a state legislator, she stood out as an influential and effective lawmaker who led the opposition to Governor Walker’s anti-choice agenda. Roys served as Democratic Caucus Chair and Vice-Chair of the Health Committee, where she successfully increased access to healthcare for Wisconsinites. Roys was the executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin for four years and helped pass Wisconsin’s first pro-choice law in three decades, the Compassionate Care for Rape Victims Act.
