The national Club for Growth is hitting GOP U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir as “just a typical politician” in a new TV ad.

It is the second new TV ad from the group this week along with one praising Vukmir’s GOP rival Kevin Nicholson.

The spot targeting Vukmir opens with the narrator asking, “Who exactly is Leah Vukmir?”

The narrator goes on to say Vukmir wrote a “letter seeking leniency for a fellow state legislator convicted of sexual assault,” referencing a message she sent the judge who oversaw the sentencing of former GOP state Rep. Bill Kramer.

The spot also says Vukmir “claimed the open records law didn’t apply to her, got sued, lost and cost taxpayers $15,000 in legal fees.” That references a 2014 settlement with the liberal Center for Media and Democracy, which sought records from Vukmir’s Capitol office related to the American Legislative Exchange Council.

“And Vukmir voted to boost her own taxpayer-paid travel expense account,” the narrator says to close the spot. “Who is Leah Vukmir? Just a typical politician.”

The spot is through CFG Action Wisconsin, an independent PAC that works with the national organization
