The Democratic Governors Association this morning released a new TV ad that calls Gov. Scott Walker a “politician” who put his ambition before Wisconsin’s schools.
It also praises Dem guv nominee Tony Evers as a teacher who’s dedicated his life to improving schools.
The DGA said the ad, airing through its A Strong Wisconsin arm, will run statewide as part of a seven-figure buy.
It opens with a shot of Walker as the narrator calls him a politician who cuts public schools by $800 million, “hurting their future because he thought it would help him run for president.”
The ad then introduces Evers as a teacher.
“He spent 20 years in our schools, then became the superintendent, who fought Walker’s cuts and put our schools first.”
The narrator closes the ad, “So who do you think will really help our kids? The politician who put his ambition ahead of our schools or the teacher who’s dedicated his life to making them better?”
The final screen shows Evers with the line, “Tell Scott Walker stand up for us.”
