The Republican Governors Association is out with a new TV ad today that features a woman saying Evers has a “dangerous idea” to cut the state’s prison population in half that makes her nervous.
The ad opens with Morgan Jursenas, of Oconomowoc, walking alongside a boy as she says she’s “always thinking about my kids’ safety” as a mom.
She says Evers’ “dangerous idea” is to reduce the state’s prison population by 50 percent.
“That’s an extreme policy that could result in violent felons being released into our neighborhoods,” she says, citing human traffickers, rapists and sex offenders.
“These dangerous criminals could be set free,” she says to close the spot. “Tony Evers is just too risky for Wisconsin families.”
The RGA said the spot will run on broadcast and cable TV statewide.
Through its Wisconsin Freedom PAC, the RGA had spent more than $5.3 million on the Wisconsin guv’s race through Oct. 10 through a combination of TV ads, digital spots and consulting fees, according to its latest filing with the Ethics Commission.
