New TV ad touts Sean Duffy’s D.C. work, background as ‘lumberjack athlete’

A new ad from U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy, featuring his youngest son, touts the 7th CD incumbent’s work in Washington and his background as a “lumberjack athlete.”

The 30-second spot opens with Duffy’s son, Patrick, walking along a forest path, wearing a plaid shirt, jeans and suspenders and carrying an ax, as a voiceover introduces him.

“You probably have me confused with my dad, Sean Duffy,” the voiceover says as the shot jumps to include the Wausau Republican, also wearing a plaid shirt and jeans and carrying an ax.

The two hold hands and walk across a bridge into a clearing, as the voiceover describes Duffy as “a lumberjack athlete.”

“In Washington, Dad cut taxes to grow paychecks in Wisconsin,” he continues as footage showing Duffy chopping a log plays. “He’s fighting for affordable health care, for farmers and workers to be treated fairly. And he stands up for law enforcement and veterans.”

“I don’t know how my dad does it. I need a nap,” the voiceover continues, as Patrick lays down on the ground.

The ad is running on digital platforms and in the Wausau media market on broadcast for one week, according to a campaign spokesman. The buy is “near six figures,” he said.
