Scott Walker’s latest TV ad features a woman who says the guv has made it easier to stay in her home thanks to a property tax bill that’s lower than it was eight years ago.
It’s the second new spot from Walker in as many days to focus on property taxes, and it’s the 25th ad he’s released during his re-election bid.
The spot opens with a woman identified as Carol saying she moved into her house in 1953. She was able to stay in the home, where her five children were raised. And it’s where she’s been teaching piano for more than 55 years, even after her husband died in 1993.
“Scott Walker has made it easier. My property taxes are lower than they were eight years ago,” she says. “If Tony Evers wins, he’ll make it harder.”
She adds Evers would raise property taxes and the gas tax as the ad shows her pulling a car into a garage.
“We can’t afford that,” she says to close the spot.
Walker’s campaign declined to provide information about the woman’s property tax bill or other information about the woman to confirm her claim.
