(Delafield) – Marine veteran and political outsider Kevin Nicholson announced today that 12 county sheriffs from across Wisconsin have endorsed him in his bid for U.S. Senate.
Brown County Sheriff John Gossage noted: “Kevin is the U.S. Senator we need in Wisconsin. He knows the challenges we face when protecting the public, and will always have our back as we do our jobs. With Kevin in the U.S. Senate, Wisconsin law enforcement professionals will have a trusted friend working on our behalf in Washington.”
Sheriff John Gossage (Brown County) is joined by the following sheriffs who are endorsing Kevin Nicholson for U.S. Senate:
Calumet County Sheriff Mark Ott
Door County Sheriff Steve Delarwelle
Green Lake County Sheriff Mark A. Podoll
Kewaunee County Sheriff Matthew Joski
Marathon County Sheriff Scott R. Parks
Former Outagamie County Sheriff Mike Brooks
Oconto County Sheriff Michael Jansen
Polk County Sheriff Peter Johnson
Rusk County Sheriff Jeffrey S. Wallace
Shawano County Sheriff Adam Bieber
Winnebago County Sheriff John Matz
In announcing the endorsement, Nicholson stated: “Wisconsin’s law enforcement officials are selfless in their daily protection of our communities and families, and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude. I also am grateful to these sheriffs for their endorsement. Their support means a great deal to our entire team. As a Marine and businessman, I know that excuses are never an option, and I know that’s true for our law enforcement professionals as well. We need an outsider to bring this attitude to the United States Senate. We don’t need more excuses from politicians; we need solutions.”
“In the Marine Corps, our core values are honor, courage, and commitment – and I know that our sheriffs understand these values. I can promise Wisconsin’s law enforcement officials – and all of the people of Wisconsin – that I’ll never abandon the safety of our state’s citizens for the sake of politics.”
Nicholson has recently been endorsed by an impressive and growing coalition that includes over 8,000 Wisconsin voters that have donated to his campaign, Senator Mike Lee and Senator Ted Cruz, Ambassador and now-National Security Advisor John Bolton, Club for Growth, FreedomWorks for America, Ed Rollins and Great America PAC, Tea Party Patriots, and the Madison Project.
Nicholson is a decorated Marine who served combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He currently works as a business consultant, helping companies solve their toughest problems. He is a first-time candidate running in the Republican primary to defeat Democrat Tammy Baldwin.
