GOP U.S. Senate candidate Kevin Nicholson raised more than $1 million during the second quarter of 2018, his campaign tells WisPolitics.com.

That follows Nicholson, a business consultant and former Marine, raising nearly $1.1 million during the first three months of the year. His campaign said he has now raised more than $3.2 million since launching his bid a year ago.

Nicholson’s campaign didn’t say how much he spent during the three-month period or how much he had in the bank to end the second quarter.

Nicholson reported $837,960 cash on hand at the end of the first quarter, topping the $637,680 GOP rival Leah Vukmir reported.

The two face off in an Aug. 14 primary.

By comparison U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Madison, had $7.8 million in the bank to close the first quarter.
