WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee today announced the addition of Steve Toft in WI-03 as an “On the Radar” candidate for its Young Guns program. To be included in the program, Republican candidates must meet specific goals throughout the cycle to ensure their campaigns are able to operate effectively. “On the Radar” is the first of three levels in the Young Guns program.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Steve Toft to the Young Guns program,” said NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers.

“As a former Army Colonel, Steve’s long record of service to his country and his fellow veterans stands in stark contrast to Ron Kind’s failure to act on whistleblower complaints at the Tomah VA.”

Background: Steve was born and raised on a farm in West Central Wisconsin where he learned the value of hard work at an early age. After graduating from Osseo-Fairchild high school and working his way through college at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, Steve enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his Army career, Steve met and married his wife Carla. His career spanned 32 years where he eventually earned his commission, retiring as a Colonel.
