The super PAC backing Leah Vukmir in the U.S. Senate race announced its first TV buy today, a spot that plays up the Brookfield Republican’s ties to Gov. Scott Walker.
Wisconsin Next PAC said the buy, which starts tomorrow, includes $575,000 on TV and $50,000 in digital ads.
The spot opens with video from the 2011 protests at the state Capitol as the narrator says “Union thugs stormed the Capitol, making threats, trying to bully Wisconsin conservatives.”
The narrator then says Vukmir and Walker “would not be intimidated” and Vukmir “led the fight and passed Walker’s bold plan to rein in the unions.”
The narrator then says in the Wisconsin state Senate, Vukmir is “consistent, conservative, 100 percent pro-life, a spending hawk” before noting Walker called her “a great leader.”
The spot concludes, “Leah Vukmir for U.S. Senate, a proven conservative.”
