MADISON – Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Wisconsin Summit on Financial Literacy to be held Friday, Oct. 19, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The conference is geared toward supporting K-12 teachers, community outreach educators, and workplace professionals who have an interest in enhancing financial and economic literacy in their communities. The summit will give attendees the opportunity to access expert knowledge, free resources, and agencies willing to support participants to reach their goals.

Among those presenting will be college professors with expertise in personal financial and economics education, fellow K-12 teachers with many years of experience teaching these disciplines, as well as financial industry veterans. Fifteen sessions will be offered, including a strand focusing on teaching financial literacy to the community.

The cost of the conference is $65, which includes lunch. Online registration is available at www.EconomicsWisconsin.org/Lambeau.html.

In collaboration with DFI and EconomicsWisconsin, Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) would like to invite interested parties to participate in a one-day professional development workshop for personal finance educators. NGPF is committed to providing educators with a robust set of professional development opportunities. These range from asynchronous offerings (podcasts, NGPF blog posts, flash surveys and Q&A Forum) to real-time (PLCs and monthly webinars) to in-person (workshops at state and national conferences and NGPF Summer Institute). NGPF developed FinCamp to provide teachers with a one-day workshop focused on collaboration, curation, creation and content. Online registration is available at https://www.ngpf.org/events/2082/

***If you attend both events, the $65 registration for the 12th Annual Get Your Students Pumped Up on Personal Finance and Economics will be reimbursed and hotel accommodations will be provided for October 19th at no cost thanks to a generous donation by NGPF. Participants must attend both events to receive this special offer.

Headline sponsors are EconomicsWisconsin, the Lakeland College Center for Economic Education and Governor Walker’s Council on Financial Literacy. Additional sponsors are the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions and the Green Bay Packers.
