Madison…Representative Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan) is proud to share that the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) met in early June to consider the use of additional federal funds the state recently received. From these funds, JFC approved $38.6 million to fully fund the Local Bridge Improvement Plan.
“This is the largest Infrastructure for Rebuilding America grant we have received in state history,” said Ballweg. “I am encouraged to see this money going back to our local communities.”
In addition to the 113 bridges that were already approved, 70 more bridges were approved with this grant. As a result of the committee’s action, the Local Bridge Improvement Program will be funded at its highest level to date.
